IT'S NOT JUST EPSTEIN: END THE SYSTEM OF PROFITEERING OFF WORKING & POOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN!
IWA US extends solidarity and hope to the victims and survivors of Epstein's sexual and labor trafficking schemes.
Epstein is a despicable example of humanity as he epitomizes the genuine nature of the billionaire class that exploits and traffics for their own gain. They use their wealth to wield state power, orchestrate influence as protection for their countless crimes, and enact violence to silence the oppressed. The "Epstein Files", a compilation of over three million pages, outlines how Epstein colluded with financiers, the press, politicians, and heads of state globally to build his trafficking network - a majority of whom, walk free, seemingly above the rule of law. This impunity is a glaring injustice for working class women, in-numerous children, and oppressed people around the world, of whom are the primary victims and survivors of these crimes.
Epstein specifically targeted poor and working class young women as his victims, and used migrant labor from the Global South to carry out his crimes. This form and scale of state violence is not new. Epstein, part of the billionaire class, utilized that wealth to protect his sex trafficking ring by seeking out other corrupt officials in finance, heads of corporations and CEOs, and government officials to create a smokescreen to distract from the atrocities he carried out among them. The following are just a few of the names that were revealed as either those who engaged, colluded, or protected Epstein's crimes:
Howard Lutnick, current US Secretary of Commerce
John Phelan, current US Secretary of Navy
William Burns, former Director of CIA
Miroslav Lajčák, former President of the UN General Assembly & former Minister of Foreign & European Affairs
Peter Mandelson, UK Ambassador to Washington → resigned
Joanna Rubinstein, President of Swedish UNHCR (Committee on Refugees) → resigned
Kathryn Ruemmler, former White House Counsel, general counsel of Goldman Sachs → resigning
Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, British Senior Royal → titles removed, released under investigation
The U.S. Department of Justice under Pam Bondi continues to fail women and children as they skirt due process and deny the investigation and prosecution of key figures implicated, including Clinton, Trump, and others within his appointed cabinet. The true interests of the DOJ and the U.S. government itself are clear: protect the wealthy and powerful, deny justice for the masses. Bondi's weak attempts to filibuster and derail conversations only serve to re-traumatize the brave survivors spearheading this movement for accountability and exposes just how low it would stoop to avoid exposing the real criminals.
The U.S. state, not just in this case but also seen in many cases of trafficking and sexual violence, will always fail to protect women and children. The U.S. has a long legacy of committing genocide, kidnapping, and trafficking oppressed peoples. This collusion of the ruling elite, is a symptom of imperialist crisis and can be linked to the fascist offensive we see unfolding against the people today.
Epstein and his clique are not just responsible for sexual exploitation and trafficking but also the labor trafficking of migrant workers including Filipinos as domestic workers. He utilized predatory recruiters to ensure his island and vacation homes were staffed with migrants from the Global South that were dependent on wages to support their families in their home countries. The migrant workers that Epstein employed from the Philippines and other poor nations were also deceived, silenced, and subject to dangerous, degrading, and compromising situations in which they were stripped of autonomy and their livelihoods constantly threatened.
As IWA, we recognize that the biggest perpetrators of systemic violence against women and children (VAWC) are U.S. Imperialism in collusion with bureaucrat capitalists in countries all over the world that maintain their power through the exploitation of the masses. This culture of violence by the ruling class and its use of state forces, such as the military and police, normalize VAWC. This normalization is then perpetuated culturally and inter-personally, maintaining women, LGBTQ+ people, and children's bodies as dispensable. Around the world it is estimated that one in three women and girls will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, approximately 1 billion people.
As IWA, we educate, organize, and mobilize to liberate women from this patriarchal, oppressive, and exploitative system that victimize and violate women’s rights! Our true potential and value as women in society is to utilize our inherent creativity and leadership to take action and develop alternatives, new solutions, and people-oriented systems that genuinely serve the interests of our communities, families, and the vast majority. It is because of our direct experience as survivors and as gender oppressed peoples that we know what genuine justice and an alternative future for our children can look like.
Continue the struggle for justice and accountability! Form new organizations to fight this oppressive system! Join the mass movement of progressive and militant women!
End the Impunity! Prosecute and Convict the ringleaders implicated in the Epstein crimes!
Pam Bondi Resign!
Justice for the women and children survivors!
