The International Women’s Alliance has been closely monitoring the global situation of women in the midst of increasing economic instability and as more anti-people governments assume power with the support of US-Imperialism. We are alarmed at the increasing rate of state sponsored attacks and surveillance against activists, environmental defenders, community organizers, and regular people who are simply trying to improve their conditions.

IWA is calling on all our members to participate in a campaign to raise awareness of these attacks, to defend those who have been targeted and surveilled, and to hold these fascist and anti-people governments to account.

To amplify the stories of IWA members, high profile cases, and friends of the anti-imperialist movement we will be launching a social media campaign. We call on all our members to participate by sharing our posts, creating your own content, holding educational discussions and webinars, and deepening the defense against counter-insurgency by proclaiming that our sisters are not terrorists and criminals - but they are heroes of the people!

We also ask that our global regions and member organizations contribute to the campaign by sharing the names and situation of any activist or organizer who is experiencing state repression and harassment. We are looking to lift up women facing increased surveillance, counter-insurgency, political targeting, or extrajudicial arrest.
