Statement of Solidarity from the International Women’s Alliance- Europe (IWA-EU)

Nothing is lost. Nothing is over.

The International Women’s Alliance in Europe declares its full and unwavering solidarity with the women of Rojava and the peoples of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, whose revolution is facing an existential assault.

Since January 6, 2026, armed attacks have escalated with a clear objective: to crush grassroots democracy, erase women’s liberation, and re-impose patriarchal, centralized rule through terror.

The attack on the Self-Administration territories has continued relentlessly since the beginning of the year. On January 30, another so-called “agreement” was announced between the Self-Administration Territories and the Syrian transitional government. We have witnessed enough of these agreements over months and years to state clearly: Al-Jolani, his allies, and their agreements cannot be trusted. History—especially the history of the Kurdish people—is filled with broken promises imposed under coercion and discarded when no longer useful.

The attacks of the past month were carried out by Al-Jolani’s forces and orchestrated by Turkey, but they would not have been possible without the green light of international powers—the United States, Great Britain, Israel, and Turkey, to name only the tip of the iceberg. Equally responsible is international capital: gas and oil corporations, arms profiteers, and economic actors.

Women are the primary targets of this war. Women fighters have been executed and their bodies desecrated. Captured women have been murdered, disappeared, and displayed as trophies. Severed braids are paraded as symbols of domination. Monuments to women’s resistance are destroyed. These are simply acts of terror aimed at erasing the memory and future of women’s liberation.

We call on women, feminist movements, unions, revolutionary organizations, and all anti-imperialist forces worldwide to:

Defend the Rojava Women’s Revolution through sustained mobilization and maintain pressure in the streets and public spaces.

Refuse legitimacy, funding, and cooperation with all forces attacking Rojava

Stand with the women resisting on the ground—as revolutionaries, not victims

DEFEND ROJAVA!

STOP IMPERIALIST AND JIHADIST WARS!

LONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY!
