International Women's Alliance

The International Women’s Alliance (IWA) is an anti-imperialist global alliance of militant grassroots-based women’s organizations, institutions, alliances, networks and individuals committed to advancing national and social liberation and gender equality.

We are united in the goal of liberating women from historical oppression and exploitation and in establishing an alternative system founded on genuine democracy, freedom, justice, equality and peace.

We aspire for a society that recognizes, promotes and protects the rights and interests of women and is void of all forms of discrimination and violence against women.

We strive to intensify local struggles and campaigns against imperialism and capitalism, strengthen international solidarity, and contribute to the people’s struggle for national liberation, sovereignty, and self-determination.

“A hundred years since the declaration of the first International Toiling Women’s Day, we, women from all over the world have come together to constitute the International Women’s Alliance (IWA) as an anti-imperialist, anti-patriarchal, anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-homophobic alliance committed to advancing a militant global women’s movement in the 21st century as part of the movement for national and social liberation.”
